I would like to share my experience of an internship at PICO, a VR production company that is part of ByteDance (China’s largest technology company).

The internship mainly involved working with VR-related media and developing and implementing communication projects. I interned at Pico for 6 months and was very impressed by the experience for two main reasons. Firstly, it gave me an insight into and interest in the VR industry; secondly, it gave me a clearer idea of my career direction. I realized that I prefer to work in the area of communicating brand values.

Uncovering confusion about the VR industry

The internship gave me a great sense of achievement. I realized that there are so many careers and roles in the VR industry, such as professional VR painters and meditators. It was very interesting to interact with these people from all walks of life, and I learned a lot of new things.

Motivating offline events

The same goes for offline activities. We organized offline VR exchange activities, for example in the elderly community. It was also interesting to teach the elderly to experience VR equipment. You can’t imagine that the elderly are no less curious about the world than young people.

collective sense of honor

In addition, we were preparing for the launch of a new product at the time, and the entire department of more than 1,000 people was working towards the same goal. Everyone was working in the same direction. Despite all the unexpected situations we encountered before the launch, when the pico 4 was successfully launched, everyone felt a strong sense of collective pride.
