About my journey to Edinburgh

(Part 1)

Coming to the city of Edinburgh was unexpected, because I only applied to this British school during the application season, and all the others were Hong Kong schools. What I didn’t expect was that it would end up bringing me here. And I am very grateful for the arrangement of fate.

I thought I would be very frustrated when I came here, but everything is going well.My MBTI personality is ENFP, and I like to call myself an extrodinary “P” person. I did very little research before coming here, so everything is very random.

From buying daily necessities, taking taxis, applying for various documents and other trivial matters, everything went very smoothly, so smoothly that it even surprised me.

One thing worth mentioning is that I have always been too lazy to cook at home, but here I have become a chef. Shopping at the supermarket is the happiest thing in my daily life. I believe this is the deep experience of every international student who comes to live here.

I had a difficult time for a while in China because I had a full-time job for a few months before coming to school. This made me feel socially awkward for a while. After coming here, I wanted to be active in making friends, but I was worried that I would be too shy to make friends.

In the end, I didn’t want to force myself to be passive and socialize with all kinds of people, deal with and communicate with various people. This state of affairs will make me feel tired, and I am also unwilling to shut myself in at home and not socialize. This is very difficult for an extrovert, so I found that after returning from the state of a full-time worker to that of a student, my ability to make friends is still normal.

So I am also grateful for this experience, which has made me realize that work can indeed be mentally and physically exhausting haha.
