Class summary and expansion: Exhibition practice of peasant paintings and rural landscape paintings

In this course discussion, I preliminarily determined the exhibition practice with peasant paintings and rural landscape paintings as the theme, and gave the basic implementation ideas. This exhibition not only focuses on rural art creation, but also combines the display method of virtual space to broaden the communication channels and enhance the audience’s sense of participation. The following is a summary of the core content:
I. Basic conception
The core of this exhibition is to find a village with beautiful scenery and a certain number of peasant painters in the countryside, and promote the development of rural culture by integrating local art resources. Specifically, the exhibition will be presented in the following two ways:
1. Physical exhibition-set up an exhibition space in the village to display the works of local peasant painters, and combine rural landscape paintings to form a unique visual experience.

2. Real-life exhibition-set a check-in point at the location of the painting, so that the audience can become a part of the painting and experience “people swimming in the painting”.

• Research the cultural background, painting characteristics and potential audience groups of the area.
2. Government and community support
• Seek policy support from the local government and obtain help in venues, funds or publicity.
• Communicate with villagers to ensure that they are willing to participate, and combine local tourism resources to enable the exhibition to drive economic benefits.
3. Curatorial plan and exhibition method
• Choose suitable exhibition spaces, such as cultural centers, rural bookstores, open field spaces, etc. in the village.
• Adopt a variety of curatorial methods, such as interactive workshops, on-site painting by peasant painters, and tourist experience painting, to enhance the fun and interactivity of the exhibition.
III. Enhance the influence of the exhibition
1. Combine rural tourism to create a cultural brand
The exhibition can be combined with rural tourism, such as holding art markets, agricultural product exhibitions, rural sketching activities, etc. during the exhibition to attract more tourists and enhance the influence of rural cultural brands.
2. Cross-border cooperation to enhance artistic value
• Cooperate with art academies and art institutions to invite professional curators and critics to deeply explore the cultural value of peasant paintings and promote research at the academic level.
• Collaborate with designers or brands to apply peasant painting elements to cultural and creative products and increase the market value of artworks.
