Jo Ho describes herself as an explorer of “digital corporeality”, dedicating her practice to studying the increasingly intertwined existence of the digital and physical body. Her work reveals how individuals in highly technological societies seek identity and time perception between software and hardware, the virtual and the real.

This deep exploration of the digital–real intersection resonates strongly with the exhibition’s theme of female time poverty, particularly in examining the fragmentation of time and identity reconstruction that women face in the digital age.

Works Evaluation

《My Desire to Consume》(2022)

Curated by jo+kapi and exhibited at Grey Projects, Singapore, this exhibition simulates the gradual degradation of digital artworks during each “transaction” through the interactive installation “ENZYME 1.0”.

The work explores the value and perishability of digital art in a market-driven context, reflecting how individuals are overwhelmed by the relentless flow of information from technological devices, leading to a distorted sense of time. This distortion is particularly significant regarding the time pressure faced by women within families and society.

《ENZYME 1.2》(2023)

An interactive installation by jo+kapi, exhibited at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore as part of the Notes on Ether exhibition.ENZYME 1.2 combines AI-generated imagery, physical installations, and audience interaction to investigate the materiality of digital art and the fragility of digital assets. Visitors “purchase” an AI-generated image by scanning a QR code; the image then progressively pixelates and blurs, symbolising the degradation of digital information with each transmission.

By simulating the erosion of digital artworks, the piece critiques our dependence on technological perfection and the illusion of time control—offering a profoundly critical perspective.
Through the integration of interactive installations and digital programming, the work delivers a multi-layered exhibition experience.
