Week 10: Group Supervision 3: It’s Dangerous to Go Alone (Take This!)

Oh look, someone opened a wormhole and transported me straight from week 7 to week 10. 😅 (No, I’m kidding, someone opened a wormhole and dumped a whole lot of work on me, and that’s why I’ve not been keeping up with my blog.) But I have Thoughts about Things and will be updating those in the days&weeks to come.

Also, I spent 45 minutes trying to get this table to show up properly and failed, so here’s a screenshot.

I think what you mention about growing away from AI is quite interesting. This week, I attended the “Geopolitics of AI” event, in which one of the arguments mentioned was that “Maybe the world decides this is not something they want to further develop, and they want to leave it there”, and that’s fine. It’s actually a very interesting discussion to have amid the hype for a breakthrough technology.

I’d like to hear more about the issue of interdisciplinarity and how you were thinking of integrating it, and what disciplines specifically.

PS: I love that you made a table (and actually fought through to keep it in this format on your blog); I tend to think in that way too!

The genre-switching aspect sounds really interesting! I’m curious if you’ve considered how you’re going to decide on a visual identity to accompany each genre — if it’s going to be somehow determined in a computational or data-driven way, or if it’s going to be based on your own personal knowledge and understanding of genre.
