Going Ahead
I’m eager to employ the techniques from Building Near Futures to develop more participatory, community-focused conversations as I work on my project. I want my study to be a vehicle for change in the real world, not just an academic exercise, whether that be accomplished through workshops, digital storytelling, or scenario planning. I’m excited to use the opportunity that future research offers to help define land management in the Caribbean by bridging the gap between strategy and vision.
I’ve learned from this experience that our decisions today will affect our future rather than dictating it. And I think we can create a more sustainable and resilient future with deliberate, community-driven strategies.
