  1. Most people basically praise Zhang Guimei for such a great move. Many netizens from mountainous areas, or people around them from mountainous areas, have talked about their experiences, saying that the rural areas they know really favor boys over girls, and the conditions for studying are difficult. Some people also expressed their admiration:Although they would feel sad for those low-quality women, they never thought about how to solve the problem, and Zhang Guimei handed over an unimaginable answer sheet.

In addition, I also found that there are still many people who question: “Why do you only run free high schools for girls and not boys?” There are also some men who say: “Now high school students, college students and graduate students are all leading by women. Why not say that they oppress men?” Some people even say that Zhang Guimei is an extreme sexist. I don’t feel surprised to see this, because she is struggling to challenge gender stereotypes.

Of course, some people refute the people who questioned before: you have done nothing, but you are here to question the people who have done great things. Zhang Guimei wanted to help the girls in the mountain area, so she took action. If you really want boys to get an education, do it like Zhang Guimei, instead of criticizing things she haven’t done here.

People who question are often men, that is, vested interests in today’s society, many of them may have not experienced inequality or the hardship of rural conditions. And most people who argue with them are girls. This is a collision of different interest positions.

  1. There is another point that attracts my attention (although it may be a bit off topic), and many people are arguing about it. When I watch some videos and comments, someone will call her Mr. Zhang Guimei(张桂梅先生).

In the traditional culture of China, “Mr” is a kind of honorific title, which is used to address scholars, teachers or learned and virtuous people. But now women have consciously resisted this statement, because women are women, women can also study and have various rights, so she should not be called Mr. Zhang Guimei, but Ms. Zhang Guimei.

There is a comment: “When ordinary men are no longer called Mr., Mr. is qualified to be called a commendation for outstanding people.” Why can every man be called Mr, and women must be outstanding to share a title with ordinary men?
