Install

Zhiqian and I were scheduled to set up the exhibition on 19 April from 13:00-15:00. We shared the same premises so we divided the space before the installation. On entering the meeting room, the right side facing the direction of the window was my area, while the left side was Zhiqian’s section.

We started with the sorting and final preparation of the exhibits in the meeting room. Then the two tables that had been together were separated and the extra chairs were moved out of the exhibition room. The installation steps for me were not too difficult, just displaying the objects on the tables and taping the pictures to the walls. I have divided areas on the walls for photographic work and pictures and also planned the arrangement of items on the tables. We opted for non-marking hooks and double-sided tape for the installation in order not to damage the table top and wall facilities.

During the installation, Zhiqian and I helped each other out. But despite this, we were still installed until 16:00. Fortunately JL booked enough time for us to do the installation, but we need to be careful to prepare more ample time for similar work in the future.

De-install

The removal process was much quicker than the installation. We removed the pictures and hooks that were attached, moved the chairs back out and put the tables back in place. We also cleaned up the classroom and took the rubbish away.

As we did not borrow equipment from the school, there were no steps involved in borrowing and returning it.
