Zhiqian’s comments have been very encouraging. Many thanks to her for recognising the idea and curation of my exhibition. It is very coincidental that our themes are both childhood, and that Zhiqian and I have maintained our collaboration on the exhibition and our discussion of the themes and works.

Zhiqian’s example of Amber was very interesting. Amber is indeed a material that can seal up objects or creatures from the past. I really appreciate the power of objects to evoke emotions and to take people back in time.

Zhiqian’s analysis of art and the public was very well done and gave me additional perspectives to think about. Art is inseparable from a particular social context and requires public participation, communication and recognition. I will continue to think about how the exhibition, as a vehicle for art and the curator’s ideas, can make the public better appreciate and accept the themes we want to convey and achieve the effect of ‘dialogue of the mind’.

Throughout the curatorial process, Zhiqian also provided me with valuable advice and assistance in collecting artworks, and so on. Thanks again to Zhiqian.
