Thank that JL has created an opportunity for us to interact with students from MA Contemporary Art Practice. It was also an opportunity for us to enrich our exhibition work. The MA Contemporary Art Practice students are fantastic artists and I saw many outstanding artworks.

I connected with Raina Lou to talk about curatorial ideas and she offered to provide me with a collection of her photographs. This work expresses the scars of the model’s childhood car accident. The title Gift is intended to express how the person behind the work acquired this scar, how it has affected her life and how she has accepted it as a gift. My theme is to explore the impact of childhood experiences on people, so I thought this group of works would be a good fit for my exhibition.
