week2
This week we visited Catholic Chaplaincy, which show a good case of combining sunlight and the man-made light. In order to understanding the different situation of light using we use some professional equipment to test the daylight factor. We can see that the designer made full use of daylight. Only some of the strip lights are used to bring supplementary light and create atmosphere.
For the drawing first I chose to draw the brightest place in the room. You can see it clearly in theh black and white picture. It then gradually goes over like grey and black to show the dissipation of light. Artificially designed light sources can be seen coming to the fore in the darker areas.
The daylight factor table below is what I consider to be the core part of the workshop. The presence of daylight is one of the conditions that must be taken into account when designing our lighting. By referring to this table and the client’s requirements we can determine where we need light to complement the interior.
