Week1
During the first week, through the first class, REVIEW 5,
I revisited last semester’s project and what I had added over the holidays,
and began to approach this semester’s classes with enthusiasm.
My project is a community used clothing recycling center,
which involves activities such as recycling-reuse-retail.
In Wednesday’s session,
Andy helped me review my previous design and pointed out parts that could be further improved,
which helped me to dive deeper into my subsequent designs.
At the same time, as my design was not perfect,
I was hesitant to make a firm decision on a lot of areas,
Andy used his expertise to help me to answer my questions,
telling me what existing structures can be retained
and what can be removed without affecting the building itself.
During Friday’s class, I gained new knowledge about how to write a resume.
I learned how to professionally introduce myself,
specifically how to describe who I am and my interests as well as my personality in each sentence.
Next week, I will continue to refine the design of my project,
the plan in terms of space should be confirmed,
completing the plans and sections to express the route of customers, staff and clothe,
as well as the placement of the furniture.
This is a good start but start to populate it further with your design though process, reflections, aims and targets.
Start to populate it with visuals this can be sketches, models, collages or scaled plans. We want to understand your thought process.
Add information/research on material selection, this is quite close to your concept design. How could you use recycled materials in new proposed joinery/furniture? The below link is any example:
