Week10 Post

This week, I closely discussed with Ms. Julie the on-site layout plan, overall implementation plan, and progress of the “recyclable textiles” exhibition project. We jointly discussed the various equipment and exhibits required for on-site layout and how to maximize the display of the project’s environmental theme.

To showcase the sustainable fashion theme, we have decided to use two mannequins. These mannequins will be used to display the eco-friendly fashions designed by Cherry and Sindy, so that visitors can better understand the theme and design of the project. In addition to the mannequins, we will need a small table to display various materials related to the production of recyclable textiles. This will include raw materials such as organic cotton and bamboo, as well as finished products like bags and accessories made from recycled materials. We believe that providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the materials used in sustainable fashion will help to increase awareness of the importance of eco-conscious design and manufacturing practices. To complete the exhibition setup, we will also require a floor lamp. The lighting will be carefully considered and placed in such a way as to highlight the natural colors and textures of the eco-friendly materials used in the fashion pieces. The lamp will also help to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors, enhancing their overall experience and leaving a lasting impression.

In addition to the on-site layout, we have also developed an overall implementation plan. My artist partner has completed the design of the eco-fashion and is ready to bring them to Edinburgh. We have confirmed the venue for the exhibition at the fire station of the Edinburgh College of Art, which is an ideal location as it not only meets our display needs but also has an atmosphere that is relevant to the environmental theme. We believe that the fire station of the Edinburgh College of Art is an excellent choice for our exhibition, and we are confident that visitors will enjoy the unique atmosphere and the meaningful message behind our display.

The exhibition has been scheduled to take place on April 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, which is a six-hour exhibition. Our goal is to attract as many visitors as possible during this time. To achieve this, we will develop a comprehensive promotion plan, which will include various forms of promotion such as social media and promotional posters, to ensure that the project is widely disseminated.

This week, I will conduct further research on curating relevant to textiles. I will explore different types of textiles and their environmental attributes, in order to better introduce the environmental significance of textiles to visitors. Additionally, we will conduct a retrospective analysis of previous projects, so that we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of the project and make improvements for future projects
