WEEK 8 BLOG

This week we focused on where individuals should be in a collective curatorial project.

In a collective curatorial project, each individual has their own responsibilities and position. In this week’s class, we were divided into different groups based on interests and skills, and assigned different tasks. I was assigned to the promotion group, and as a member of it, my task was to assist in promoting and posting posters. Although this task is not very difficult, I am happy to be a part of the project and help it be presented better.

In addition to sharing our responsibilities in the group, we also discussed the target audience and ways for the audience to interact with the project. For my exhibition, I believe that the main target audience will be young students and artists interested in textiles, as well as young people and communities interested in recycling and green technology. I hope my exhibition will attract these people to come and visit, while also striving to make the exhibition meet the needs of most people, including people with disabilities, the elderly, and children. These audiences should be treated equally in our exhibition, and we need to design a friendly and inclusive exhibition environment that allows everyone to participate easily.

In terms of curatorial communication, creating posters is the easiest way, but besides that, social media is also an effective tool. In today’s society, mass media plays an important role in people’s lives, and social media is one of the most popular and widely used tools. Through social media, we can easily disseminate information and attract more people to visit our exhibition. In addition, we can also use social media to interact with the audience, collect their feedback and suggestions, in order to improve our exhibition.

However, when using social media for curatorial communication, we also need to pay attention to some issues. Firstly, we need to ensure that our information is accurate, clear, interesting, and able to attract people’s attention. Secondly, we need to pay attention to the way information is conveyed, in order to avoid misunderstandings or unnecessary disputes. Finally, we need to pay attention to the timeliness of the information, and start promoting as early as possible, so that more people can learn about our exhibition.

In summary, each individual in a collective curation project has their own position and responsibilities, and we need to fulfill our tasks conscientiously while also working closely and actively with other members.
