Week 8 | Project Crits with Rachel

17 March 2022

In this session, Rachel and the group discuss ‘The Programme’.

Each member spoke to the group about their project and Rachel recorded our narratives (I realised that the job of ‘recording’ should be my responsibility as I am the archivist role for the project, but I was worried about my shorthand skills and thanked Rachel for doing this).

After each group member had analysed their project, Rachel summarised and came up with some questions to think about and address regarding The Programme.

QUESTIONS

  1. We’ve identified what sites/platforms might be required for our personal projects:
  • how do we link up and potentially share platforms?
  • How do common themes and forms in projects complement each other? Conversations required.

  1. Thinking more generally, where do we promote and list our projects – how are they hosted, as a programme?
  • More important question – a programme, in its most basic form, is the pulling together of these projects. Start to gather lists and assets, summaries of projects, research strands and consider what information will be represented and how?

In this lesson we really start to discuss how we should put together the 11 individual projects. Based on the commonalities of each project, we tried to connect the 11 projects using an index to make it an organised whole.

To explain the relationship between The Programme and Individual Project, Rachel used the ALCHEMY Film& Art website as an example.
