Week 6 | Programming Meeting with Neil

1 March 2022

Through the Week 5 assignment, I read Weixiao Wei organisational report and wrote down some reflective analysis, which also allowed me to reflect on my own organisational report.

TeamLab, the subject of the Weixiao Organisation Report study, is a digital art-based arts organisation that is innovative in its art form. Also the organisation has many branch venues around the world. It is very well established as a commercial art exhibition organisation.

In this class, the CAT team will collate what they have learned from the organisational report, key elements of curatorial organisation, key forms of organisational practice and innovation, and summarise what is appropriate for use in our ‘The Programme’.

Professor Neil divided us into groups and each of us wrote down our questions in the question-and-answer box.

My organisational report The subject of my research is Creativetime, an organisation whose one characteristic is that it commissions exhibitions in landmark locations, so I ask the question of how arts organisations gain access to public space.

Through group discussion, each group places the elements they consider important in the Mind Map (spreading outwards according to importance)

Finally, as a result of the discussions in the three groups, we were able to bring together the ideas of all CAT staff and determine that ‘sites’ and ‘create and/or distribute’ would be central to ‘The Programme’.
