Week10 | Seminar with Linda
28 March 2022
In this week’s seminar, Professor Linda focuses on ‘How to organise team work’ and ‘Ethical issues in artistic practice’.
The projects that emerge from the combination of anthropology and artistic practice are essentially the same as any other project. As the planner of a project, it is a challenge for the planner to organise the division of tasks in the team.
- Before arranging the division of work, it is important to first identify the full picture of the project and grasp the big picture. The planner needs to have a clear understanding of what is happening within the organisation, including the work, the people and the environment.
- The planner then needs to create the assigned pages. As the director of the project, the work for the project is clearly listed, the content of the work is defined and the work is assigned to the appropriate team members.
- Once the work is assigned, the planner needs to control the progress of the work. Set up clear completion dates and work schedules to help the project unfold in an orderly manner.
After discussing the topic of project organisation, the professor discussed with us, using five examples, the ethical issues in artistic practice.
We split into different groups and chose one of the examples and discussed the example from different perspectives. This included aspects from artistic aesthetics, social morality, legal constraints, economic necessity, etc.
We discussed the chosen example from the above perspectives. Through this discussion, I became aware of the moral shackles that exist in artistic practice itself, which will guide me in my future artistic practice.
Finally, the professor presented a website for the virtual project.
This is a virtual website through which we can gain a clear perception of the project on a virtual space.
Again, this is a good, well illustrated representation of the final Class. You still don’t reflect on what you may have learned her in a way that uses the Portfolio is a space for critical reflection, rather than as a record of what happened in each class. The issue of managing a research project, for example, is a case in point. If you are involved in a collaboration, then there is no PI (Principal Investigator) and no ‘assigned’ subdivision of labour.
