I searched a lot of sites but still haven’t settled on the right one in the end. The search is ongoing.

Site1: Two-storey residential house

I love this site with full details and suitable size, but given the feasibility of the scheme and the accessibility to the client, it was clear that choosing a building in one of the many residential areas did not make the most sense. This could be subject to complaints from neighbors or a potential safety hazard due to the transient population.

Site2: Cowgatehead Free Church

Site3: Telephone booth

Rather than a site, it was more of a design inspiration that inspired me. I looked into telephone booth design and found many redesigns of them. But for a space that needs to be healing, I think the phone booths are a bit cramped. But the designs are good inspiration.

Site4: Police box

Considering that the red phone box may be an Edinburgh cultural feature that cannot be converted, I set my sights on the police box. It’s the right size and has had a lot of retrofits. It’s just that there are too many places and a lot of information has been lost, and if you want to get specific information, you need to go around almost the whole city. This was a serious challenge for me who was afraid to go out.
