Hi, my name is Chengyi and I am from Beijing. I have been living in London for the past ten years so a lot of my work focuses on my identity as a multi-cultural individual. I am also a big fan of art made during, or after times of turmoil and revolutions. My favourite artists are Goya, Zhang XiaoGang and Ai Weiwei.

I am looking forward to exploring a range of mediums and artists over the course of the year at ECA, especially installation. I have experience with hard and soft ground printing, aquatinting as well as watercolour, gouache and oil painting. I have also experimented with animation and have a YouTube channel where I make animation to give narrative to my favourite songs.
