Sinéad Kempley

longing for a bond

Wooden pallet, LED lights, plasticine, scatter granules, rubber seal, bioplastic with agar, foam loose, foam dense, steel ring, jesmonite, solidified slime with polystyrene balls, bioplastic with spirulina, byproduct EVA glue, worn ceramic shaker, pebbledash, sand cast glass, water, fragment of worn helium balloon, LED screen, cables, sanding block, ceramic bowl, moss, fragment of prismatic plastic panel, compressed aluminium foil peeled from tarmac, rubber ring, whelk egg case, wax, worn plastic, rusted aluminium tube, flock, surface transducer, amplifier, conductive sensor touch board.

Through the use of cyclical materials and metamorphosing forms, my work focuses on the depletion and transformation of matter. I aim to create a sense of change over deep time, an animating of the forgotten and making material that which is seemingly immaterial.
