To complete my final piece, I connected my fragmented vinyl record, now representing my self-created modern-day playlist, to a young man who listens via wired headphones. He has accessed a myriad of songs but does appreciate the full artistry that created them.

Lost but Not Found

To reach the final presentation of my piece I needed to show how the personal experience of ‘listening’ to music had also changed from a rich sound that filled a room and could be shared to something that filled a single person’s head and was a completely solitary isolating experience. It was obvious to me I had to connect a person to my reconstructed, vinyl album, and I wanted to have a person listening with wired headphones just as you would listening to a playlist through headphones from your phone.
