Hello, my name is Alex. I’m Russian and French and grew up in Holland before coming to Edinburgh to study. I particularly enjoy photography as an artistic medium, with Keith Arnatt and Peter Fraser’s work having a significant influence on my interests and way of working within this medium. A contemporary art gallery is one of my favourite spaces to be when I need inspiration. Some of my favourite galleries/museums include the Witte de With Gallery in Rotterdam and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
In this module, I’m really hoping to develop my interests in photography and printmaking. I’m excited to get feedback from others and use my course-driven motivation to improve my creative work. I think it will also be interesting to see how my skills from my architecture modules might come into play in my work, since this field tends to feel isolated from the other arts in some aspects.
