Throughout this semester’s lectures, we looked at the past and present of humanity. We were made aware of the many issue’s humans have contributed to over time but also the creative ways in which we have solved them. The issues have brought us to an unsustainable lifestyle where nature is not considered to be at the same level as us, and as a consequence, we are facing global warming and in the midst of sixth mass extinction.

We can agree that the start of the steep decline towards this unsuitable lifestyle begun with the industrial revolution. The introduction of machinery had an impact on economic growth but it also assisted in the destruction of our planet.

What is going to happen in the future? The fourth industrial revolution?

The World Economy Forum has released an interesting change toward the evolution of humankind, defined as the Fourth revolution. It is characterized by a range of new technologies that are fusing the physical, digital, and biological worlds, impacting all disciplines, economies, and industries, and even challenging ideas about what it means to be human. This next step for humankind will also focus on a more sustainable world with the use of artificial intelligence. I have attached below the video by the World Economy Forum for you to watch.

In conclusion, I believe that the world is moving towards adopting greater consideration of nature. Will the fourth revolution help humanity to survive global warming?
