I chose canvas because it has a clear and charming association with feminism and womanhood. Women (throughout history) have a variety of uses for fabric and textiles, including advocacy (for women’s rights, etc.). In my art, I sometimes feel as though I am fighting for an open discussion of taboo subjects like miscarriages. I want to shock and be outspoken. It is, in my opinion, essential for my mental health and personal experience.
