This piece is a very exaggerated painting of my razor. As I was looking at everyday things and showing how positive they can be I looked at personal hygiene and how it is such an everyday task but it is so good for you to look after yourself. The proportions of the razor are completely off in the orange handle so I intend to get round to fixing this at some point but the main focus here was underpainting. I underpainted with pink on this canvas panel and feel that I was very successful at letting the pink shine through in certain places especially in the grey razor head, and I used the underpainting to create tone in the background turquoise.
