After my uninterest when looking at natural structures, I tried to find inspiration in the everyday, studying myself as a subject by photographing my day in isolation and keeping a diary. My immediate thoughts regarding painting in isolation was that I would have no inspiration. With no influence from outside other than my window where would I start? So rather then looking externally I started to look at myself and more internally. I have never studied myself in my work before so this was a very honest approach to my art that I have never taken before.

Although these pictures are very mundane, I feel that the images appear very interesting, especially with the drama that the black and white tones add. My intention now, is to create a series of paintings inspired by the photographs of my day and possibly incorporating text from my diary entries. I’m interested to see whether my paintings change as both the global situation and my emotions change.
