These images are of 6 of the postcards that I created this week. I started by creating the ‘Why’ and ‘How’ cards which I painted to show mine and everyone else’s confusion surrounding the online class and coronavirus situation. I was using bold colours because I think it is necessary that we all keep some sense of positivity, even with everything that is going on around us. The other cards were inspired by the first two, and I continued with the colour pallets and was looking at abstract brush strokes and shapes and was really trying to experiment with a very different style as I feel experimentation, and simply getting stuck into the work, is the best way to start fresh with a new semester of creating.

When looking at where to exhibit my postcards, I started thinking about the difficulty that many artists are experiencing at the moment with exposure. I was trying to find ways to display my work in a flat that was told to stay inside over the weekend by the Government. Constantly trying to find a sense of normalcy at the moment can be at best tiresome and at worst infuriating, so I started to think about ways to present art in an at home situation. My flat mates, being non artists, I’m sure were very surprised to see my art displayed in their food cupboards but, sometimes people need art, and maybe art needs to be viewed by someone. Certainly in my case as my work needed to be seen in order to fulfil the purpose of positivity that I was giving it.
