I found an old stoneware hot water bottle in a charity shop – sadly I wasn’t about to pay £20 for it, so I will have to make do with some reference photos. One of the other staff members referred to it as a ‘pig’ – apparently this isn’t actually to do with the ‘snout’ shape to the handle, and is a North English/Scottish word for a pot.
