I collaborated with a blacksmith in Hereford to make a replica ruff setting iron as seen in Janet Arnold’s Patterns of Fashion 4. Theo used traditional blacksmithing techniques to make the setting iron, which was an essential element in the process of creating the ruff. Without it, I could not achieve the signature loops expected in a ruff.
