In today’s blog, Al Innes, Research Development Officer in Edinburgh Research Office, writes about the newly launched Funding Opportunities and Insights Hub.
We have recently launched a new way of sharing funding opportunities with colleagues across the institution that integrates with both our extensive research insights resources and our compiled Research Professional funding searches. The Funding Opportunities and Insights Hub includes the Funding Opportunities Calendar, as well as access to guidance and general information on a number of funding schemes and funders.
A calendar to support planning and share opportunities
The Funding Opportunities calendar shows active funding opportunities for your discipline, and allows for curated funding opportunities which can be added to your calendar or shared with your team. The calendar is divided into two parts – a visual deadline-based representation of all open funding calls at this present time, and a drop down info bar that contains multiple details about calls as well as a link to further information on the call. You can find the calendar via the Funder Insights page on the Edinburgh Research Office Insights & Intelligence Portal.
If you are thinking of applying for any of these schemes, then you can contact your Research Funding Specialist.
A hub for funder insights
At Edinburgh Research Office we actively collate and compile information on key funders and emerging funding trends and opportunities. This includes continual updates on UKRI funding trends, for example, or could be focused on navigating you through Brexit. If you would like more detailed information about any of these schemes, or the funders themselves, we run webinars and workshops throughout the year that you can sign up to via our website.
Further information and resources
In addition to the information discussed above we also curate a selection of previously successful research funding applications that you can utilise when drafting your own proposal, as well as helping to manage University selection for certain schemes.
