Interdisciplinary Innovation: April 24 Deadline for Big Ideas Accelerator Applications

In this blog post, Al Innes, Strategic Research Executive in Edinburgh Research Office, gives insights into the Big Ideas Accelerator, highlighting the available webinar and award-holder profiles, which closes on the 24 April 2024.

Are you thinking of applying to the Big Ideas Accelerator (BIA), but haven’t put pen-to-paper yet? You’ve three weeks until the deadline (April 24) to pitch your big idea to the interdisciplinary panel reviewing this year’s applications. Take a look at the information page to find out what is required, and what you can ask for to get your big idea off the ground.

Along with general information on what is expected from a winning BIA application, you can also find profiles of current award holders and insights from them on what it takes to successfully pitch your big research idea.

If you’re still not sure what is expected then why not take a look at the Big Ideas Accelerator Webinar, which took place last month? We had a great turn out for the session and heard some fantastic insights from our selection panel.

What you can expect to find out from the webinar

  • What do we mean by disruptive?
  • What is expected of a ‘radically interdisciplinary’ application?
  • How can a successful BIA application support future funding or partnerships?
