Green Deal Call: Resources and support for researchers

In today’s blog, Natasha Curley and Boz Czarnecki (EU & International Team), share learning from our recent Green Deal call information events, and highlights the support Edinburgh Research Office provides to researchers who are interested in this call.

We delivered three online information sessions introducing the Green Deal Call this month. To all those who joined – thank you. If you couldn’t – don’t worry, you can now also access the slides and recording of each session by following the links below.

This call comes under the current funding programme, Horizon 2020 (H2020); therefore, UK-based organisations are eligible to apply.

Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences researchers – Green Deal information event (06.10.2020)

Leading a consortium?

Edinburgh Research Office offer a full proposal review for Edinburgh led consortiums. If you would like more information regarding this, please contact Boz Czarnecki. To show interest in the full review, please send Boz a concept note by 30 October 2020.

In the note, please specify:

  • Topic in the Call (e.g. LC-GD-1-3-2020)
  • How the project will (a) address the topic challenge (including objectives, approaches, etc.), (b) fit the scope of the topic, and (c) what impacts it will generate (max 2 pages)
  • The consortium – (a) its members and what expertise they will bring; as well as (b) how they complement one another to deliver the project (max 2 pages)

We will give initial feedback on your proposal and will let you know if we are able to offer full review by 6 November 2020.

Joining a consortium?

If you’re joining a consortium, please let your school and your Research Funding Specialists, know as soon as possible. Preferably by 10th December.

The deadline for this call is 26th Jan 2021.

External brokerage sessions

We encourage you to take advantage of free online brokerage sessions. These provide an opportunity to pitch your idea and/or identify potential partners usually during one-to-one meetings. Brokerage sessions are generally very useful means of focused networking (a) when you lead an already healthy consortium and are looking for a partner who will give the edge to it; or (b) when looking to be identified as partner.

Below we have indicated two major sessions.
