In this blog post, we share news of a new research leadership programme for women working in climate research at the University of Edinburgh and provide details about an upcoming online information session.
Edinburgh Climate Research Leaders is a new leadership programme for women in academia (grades 8-10) who are working in climate change research at the University of Edinburgh.
The programme will run from January – May 2024.
About the programme
Edinburgh Research Office, with support from the Institute for Academic Development and the Edinburgh Earth Initiative, have been working closely with training partners 64 Million Artists to develop a new leadership programme called Edinburgh Climate Research Leaders.
Recognising that women are currently under-represented in this area, the University is keen to support women to grow, as well as recognising and seeking to change the barriers placed on them by systemic inequality.
The programme has been co-designed with women from across the University and will support participants to develop new skills and knowledge, build their confidence and capacity for developing ambitious research programmes and create a network of support as they grow ideas for impact. The programme will focus on personal leadership development, as well as creating a strong cohort to advocate for change and innovation within the sector.
