Symposia

Edinburgh Castle on a grassy hill, set against blue sky
Edinburgh Castle, December 2022

We are holding symposia in Scotland and Samoa, bringing together project workshop participants, poets, artists, filmmakers and academics to present their work and discuss their vision of Stevenson’s legacy in each of these locations moving forward. From Vailima to Collinton, this project traverses the wide expanses, both literally and culturally, that Stevenson and his family travelled during their own lives and through this symposium series each stakeholder on the project is invited to reflect on their own experiences of remediating his creative outputs in the contemporary cultural landscape. The first symposium will take place in Edinburgh on Robert Louis Stevenson day 2024 – book your place here.
