The aim of this page is to document the 24-28th May 2021 workshop with interaction designer Jason Bruges for the Design Informatics Programme of the University of Edinburgh.
Innovation of the workshop
The innovation of this workshop lies in the use of interaction design and cutting-edge technology to re-think the design of public space in the pandemic and post-pandemic era. The aim is to encourage social-interaction and use of public space during while adhering to safety measures. So, the goal is to re-designing interactions amidst the covid-19 era in an attempt to help people connect, help them improve their mental and physical health but also help the economy move forward. Covid-19 has impacted our everyday lives. The global economy and our well-being have been hugely affected. The pandemic has changed our interactions, it has isolated us, changed our spatial habits and the way we occupy the urban space. Design needs to address and respond to these changes both in real-time and in the long-term.
