Edinburgh Historical Reconstruction Lab

Edinburgh Historical Reconstruction Lab

Hands-on history for research, teaching, and public engagement

Work with us!

If you wish to book the lab for research or teaching, please email CfHRR@ed.ac.uk at the first instance, and we will see if we can accommodate you. For teaching, the lab can accommodate up to 15 students, and you will need to supply and fund your own materials – you should book as soon as possible in advance. Everyone who uses the lab will need to do a short lab induction.

If you’d like to use the lab as a visiting scholar, please get in touch! We are part of the Visiting Scholars Scheme run by the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, with some additional bench fee costs:

  • £100 for the first day, for induction, lab coat laundering, technician time
  • £20 a day thereafter

You may incur additional costs for ingredients or specialised equipment.
