About Us

            Sophie Houghton (Primary Researcher)

Hi! I am Sophie. I am a trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian. I am passionate about early intervention and prevention of mental health difficulties for parents and their infants, particularly for families who have experienced an admission to the special care baby unit/neo-natal intensive care unit (SCBU/ NICU). I will be running the side of the study recruiting parents who have experienced any length of stay in the SCBU/ NICU.

             Islay Barne (Secondary Researcher)

Hi! I’m Islay. I am currently in my third year of a PhD in Clinical Psychology within the School of Health in Social Science at Edinburgh University. I am excited to help contribute to the development and improvement of perinatal mental health services. I will be looking to recruit a sample of parents who have not had any complications with their new infant and have been discharged home from the hospital without a stay in the NICU.
