Friday 12th December
Dear All,
Thank you for your work this week.
I hope you are wearing your hi-viz, and all survived the storms. That wind on Tuesday night could have cut you in two. It took the roof off Appleton Tower and they’ve got the rain buckets out in McEwan Hall.
Thank you to everyone who perseveres.
Good cheer to all who joined us at Kyloe on Friday. The quiz winners ( and winning answers) are now announced! Festive quiz – the results are in!
I am looking forward to seeing you at the LTW All-Staff meeting on Monday. Note that this is an in-person only event, and there will be snacks (but you might want to get lunch in the EFI café beforehand). Also note that if you have questions you would like me to answer, start thinking of them now. Reminder – LTW All-Staff next Monday
I see a small collection of book-swap books is appearing under the tree, alongside a very random set of ‘free to a good home’ items. Does this spark joy? I also see the hungry chimneys being filled with dry goods. That definitely sparks joy. Thank you.

In the last 6 months your managers have approved learning and development activities and conference attendance for 42 LTW colleagues you can read colleague reflections on what they have learned: Staff Development Opportunities
In the new year McEwan Hall will be home to an immersive light show. Here’s the link to join the waitlist for tickets should you be interested: Enlightenment: An Immersive Light Show in Edinburgh – Waitlist – Edinburgh | Fever
Speaking of lights, as we approach Channukah this weekend, I wish you all an abundance of food fried in oil, and a chance to use your best Glaswegian Jewish joke: ‘is that a doughnut, or a meringue?…..’ Winter festivals – A season for connection
Dark when I leave the house, and dark on the way home.
Best wishes,
