Congratulations to Osh Former LTW Intern is named as a tech rising star and a reminder that if you ever see an award worth going for, just do it.
In that spirit, I am chuffed to report that LTW now holds an Athena Swan Bronze award!
People tend to hear about Athena Swan Athena Swan Charter | Advance HE in the context of academic departments, but it has actually been open to professional services departments since 2015. The first of those awards went to Reading Uni IT dept in 2023, which is around the time that Katie started writing ours. So, we are the first professional services directorate to gain Athena Swan accreditation in the University, and one of very few nationally. Thank you to Katie for having the patience to write it and to Ari, Aysha, Edward, Lesley, Kevin, Ewan, Stewart and Stratos who gave their time to be on the Self-Assessment Team. Athena Swan award for ISG Athena Swan itself is not entirely uncontroversial, (Athena SWAN – Wikipedia) but I am pleased we finally have it, all the same.
As we move into the season of red autumn leaves and orange food, it’s great to see more than 50 of you signed up for the festive meal The LTW Break Room
