Friday 8th August
Dear All,
Thank you for your work this week.
Last week we waved goodbye to Keith Matheson from DLAM, but the platforms he built are going strong. In the month of July there were over 800 enrolments to courses on our new Short Courses Platform, an increase of 5% compared to June. Active users to the catalogue also increased by 68% month on month, with 58% more views to pages than in the month of June. Great to see this interest in our courses and that the catalogue is working well. Courses | Short Courses – University of Edinburgh Have you looked at the range of things on offer?
Big news this week has been Gavin’s announcement about ISG’s new home at Forrest Hill Edinburgh, 5 Forrest Hill, Un… | Place | trove.scot. Forrest Hill is graveyard-adjacent, and I think we will enjoy the historic war and witch connections, and naming projects after residents of Greyfriars. If we can navigate the Harry Potter tours and the charms of Sandy Bells, it will be nice to be back in the heart of the University. Our LST already have a base there and there is a media studio in the attic.
Before we leave, the Red Arrows will fly once more over Argyle House at around 615pm on Saturday 16thAugust. This is what it will probably look like. ArgyleHouseRedArrowsJul23 – Media Hopper Create
Working at Edinburgh often feels like working in a film set. I have recently spotted LST venues in both Annika and The Buccaneers. Let me know if you spot any more.
In the spirit of historic dramas, the LST teams have been out and about with innovative solutions to the age-old problem of wearing a radio mic with a dress how to wear a radio mic with a dress Watch this space.
If you enjoy a bit of drama and recommend shows in any of the festivals, ask Fiona Hendrie how we can share these via the LTW colleague hub.
Have a good weekend,
