Friday 15th August

Dear All,

Thank you for your work this week. I hope you are enjoying oasis/red arrows/tattoo/bookfest/heatwave/ wildfires/fringe etc

I was chuffed to bits to hear the presentations from all you interns  this week, and I will enjoy even more reading your blog posts. Thank you for reminding me why we do this Summer Snapshots: How Our Interns Made Their Mark

I know that a few of you are meeting Blackboard this morning to tell them what we’ve discovered about making our use of Learn more accessible and sustainable (including some recommendations for them as a supplier).

You are also welcome to join (part or full) the UX Community Day in September: https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/website-communications/book-now-to-take-part-in-our-ux-community-day-in-september/ (ask your manager).

I am happy to send good wishes to our several colleagues who are enjoying wedding season Celebrating Our Colleagues’ Upcoming Weddings and Recent Nuptials! Let Fiona know if you have more life events to be celebrated.

Speaking of celebrating, the staff awards deadline has been extended to give everyone else a chance to catch up with LTW’s number of nominations. What lovely people you are.

If you are feeling overwhelmed or overheated, it may be time to Join Our Digital Detox Webinar: Embrace Mindful Tech Use!

It was sad to wave goodbye to Aileen Robertson after her long service with us, and it will be sad to wave goodbye to Katie Grieve (Data and Equality Officer) as she leaves us to continue her studies.  If you would like to ask her about her next adventure, please join us for Tea and Tunnocks on the Wing at lunchtime on Wednesday.

Stay cool,

-Melissa
