The Medical Women’s Federation is a society that promotes the personal and professional development of women in medicine.
At a student level, we call on inspiring female role models here in Edinburgh and host events where they are able to reflect on challenges, inspire confidence and pass on advice as mentors. We are also passionate about improving women’s health and considering the female perspective on other aspects of health. This forms the basis for engaging events that encourage progressive thoughts on topical matters often extending beyond one’s comfort zones.
We hope to create a supportive community built on respect and free from prejudice. Whilst we are proud to advocate for women in medicine, we are not limited to this, as reflected in our dedication to the fair and equal treatment and representation of everyone in medicine.
As the student-led contingency of a national society we promote interesting events, opportunities for networking and support beyond the Medical School. We would be excited to welcome any new faces to our society as we hope that here you will find a group of friendly, like-minded people from across all different years with whom to share many exciting opportunities to come.
