Hello and welcome to all new arrivals and prospective new players!
Just a few words to anyone who may be interested in joining the Edinburgh University Medics Football Club (EUMFC), whether you’ve just joined us at Edinburgh or if you’ve been here all along and fancy giving it a go. We are an extremely relaxed club with both playing and social members from all six years of Medicine and of all footballing abilities.
Most of the football is played in two intramural leagues, one on a Wednesday and the other on a Sunday, running from October to March. The leagues are followed by the Summer Cup tournament, played by all intramural teams between March and May. We also play casual five a side games within the club, about once a week throughout the whole year.
At SNIMS (Scottish and Northern Irish Medics Sports tournament), we take several teams of all abilities to play against the other Scottish and Northern Irish medical schools. The club also travel to NAMS (National Association of Medical Schools) to compete on a national level against medical schools from all over the UK. Both tournaments are a great chance to travel to new cities across the UK and experience their student life.
On the social side we host regular events throughout the year such as curry nights, Ssoccer Saturday, Ties and our AGM. They are a good laugh and a chance to meet everyone in the club. To top off the year, we run a tour in the summer.
