Badminton

Badminton club logoHello we’re Medics’ Badminton (EUMB)!

Whether you’re unsure if badminton is even a sport or you’re a player that can give LCW a run for his money, we may just be what you’re looking for to help settle into Edinburgh.

Our biggest selling point as a society is that we are a commitment-free club that does not require an (expensive!) gym membership to attend despite being at the big sports centre at Pleasance (most university sports societies require one to be a member).

Our weekly sessions on Thursday evenings provide a space where people can play informal badminton, catch up with pals and switch off from medicine after an exhausting day of uni. Complete beginners are more than welcome – it’s an easy sport to pick up and a lot of fun no matter your level!

Club members smiling for cameraWe held various socials last year ranging from pub scavenger hunts to wholesome meal nights in and we take great care to organise events that suit every member. Our social secretaries are amidst preparations to provide this aspect of EUMB, with backup plan after backup plan in case of any COVID-related disruptions, so rest assured that we are working hard to ensure your student experience with us is fun (and safe) as it could possibly be!

We’re a friendly bunch so please come say hello, the first two sessions are completely free! Follow our social media to keep up with future updates.
