Facing Our Past

The National Trust for Scotland has released an interim report to research the legacies of slavery in Scotland as part of the wider research undertaken into topics and issues of interest and concern to the Trust.

This work, undertaken as part of the Trust’s “Facing our Past” research to explore the histories and legacies of Scotland’s connections to chattel slavery, has identified and researched over 40 properties all over Scotland within the Trust’s portfolio, which hold links to the transatlantic slave trade and empire.
