Art / performance

A selection of our creative practice since 2020

For works and texts prior to 2020, please see our book, Making Routes: Journeys in Performance 2010-2020.

Waterways Collective. Since 2024, we have been part of a Scotland-based art-science collective following Atlantic salmon and their migrations into local landscapes, distant seascapes, multi-species histories, and possible futures. Works include performances, film, and community arts.

Entanglements. From 2023-2024, we collaborated with performance artist Karen Christopher to create a series of Entanglements, combining performance, film, dance and conversation.

In November 2024, we presented Studies in Falling, Flowing and Following at Edinburgh Futures Institute:

Deep Time and Future Pasts at Gully Cave. In 2022, we presented our film, made with Helen Billinghurst, Jamie Lorimer and Phil Smith, and film makers Catherine Dunn and Jack Reed. Screened at National Gallery, Edinburgh, Dec 2022 – Jan 2023; funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Hope Street Walk. In 2021, we created an audio walk for Hope Street (Shared Studios at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, funded by Edinburgh Futures Institute).
