Week 4 Reflections: Integrative tools

The beginning of this semester has been a busy one, with three weeks of Monday/Tuesday intensives, weekly hands-on and insightful courses on a Wednesday at 1am, several group projects and some creative assignments to think about. I feel like I have learned a lot and am exploring more concepts, methods and spaces outside of my comfort zone relative to last semester.

Whilst I haven’t found the time to give a lot of specific thought to my final project, each week on a Thursday, I have begun a practice where I ask myself to choose one theme as a take away and attempt to loop this back in. This week, my theme is integration. From learning more about integrative technology such as Mobile as a service (MaaS) which aims to create safer, more personalised and more inclusive end to end travel options for people in cities around the world; to thinking about how we could use accessible communication methods such as videos, games to showcase what a new educational future with ChatGPT may look like, integration seems to have been at the heart of much of my learning this week.

Much of this learning has been in the context of future imaginaries, and how these can be delivered to people in a way that will be useful for them. For my project, this highlights the importance of really considering what my delivery methods will look and feel like. For me, this week has reaffirmed the delivery options I was looking into last semester. These were/are: a) exploring digital storytelling or b) mirroring anthropological research output in the context of my research.

I still need to do some further digging into what digital storytelling would entail in terms of resources, skills and support but at least I know that in my head its worth looking into.
