Week 12
In the process of pursuing my research on the digitization of community currencies, I had originally planned to produce a documentary film that would take me to different regions to explore and document the evolution and impact of community currencies. However, due to visa application issues, I was unable to travel to Sicily, the planned filming location.
As a result, I had to rethink my approach and decided to pursue my research through a written thesis instead. Despite the challenges and setbacks, this experience taught me the importance of adaptability and resilience in research, and how to pivot and adjust my research methods to suit unexpected circumstances.
Through my literature review and case studies, I gained a deeper understanding of the evolution, impact, and challenges faced by digital community currencies. I also identified best practices and experiences that can provide valuable lessons for the digitization of community currencies in other regions. Additionally, I proposed guiding strategies and approaches to facilitate the healthy development of digital community currencies, based on the needs of various stakeholders.
Although my original plan did not come to fruition, this experience allowed me to develop new research skills and approaches, and reinforced the importance of flexibility and perseverance in the face of unexpected obstacles. Ultimately, this research has provided valuable insights into the digitization of community currencies and its potential impact on local economies and financial systems.
In conclusion, my experience highlights the importance of being adaptable and resourceful in research, and how unexpected setbacks can lead to new opportunities and discoveries. Through my research, I hope to contribute to the ongoing evolution and development of community currencies, and promote financial innovation and local economic development.
