The week before project plan submission

This is a meaningful time node for me in the Programme. The actual project progress came along a little later than I expected after struggling with the assessments in the busy April. Although the excitement for the project was partially dulled by the temporal relaxation of completing the coursework, it was really more excited and looked forward to working on the project in the coming two months.

The pilot interview was not as smooth as I had imaged. I talked with five Chinese overseas students in total. Every participant had very different experience. It is hard to conclude a typical and persuasive conclusion from these diverse but tiny amount of cases. So, I decided to conduct an extra media discourse analysis to have a concrete view of how the discourse of zero CIVID disciplined individuals in the power relation and helped the formation of a digital citizenship. And the case study can be a proof of this view point. However, I haven’t talked with my supervisor before I submitted my project plan. Hopefully I can get some positive feedback in the next meeting.

The pilot interview also expanded my thinking. The interviewees who have different discipline backgrounds provided me many many insights, even more than those I had assumed. These insights inspired me to modify my logic and mind mapping.

I wish everyone a good break and good luck with their projects!
