[13] The BIG AI Bits

I’ve done so much reading on AI and the issues around it for the last few years that I needed to organise my thoughts. I’ve started a MIRO mind map that I will add to as I read more, but here it is so far. It’s referencing a lot of different papers and books, I’ve kept a note of the main ones below

    1. The Age of Surveillance Capitalism – Shoshana Zuboff
    2. Weapons of Math Destruction – Cathy O’Neil
    3. Privacy Is Power – Carissa Véliz
    4. Technology Is Not Neutral – Stephanie Hare
    5. You Look Like a Thing and I Love You – Janelle Shane
    6. Human Compatible: AI and the Problem of Control – Stuart Russell
    7. A Relational Theory of Data Governance – Salomé Viljoen
    8. Excavating AI – Kate Crawford and Trevor Paglen
    9. The Dangers of Stochastic Parrots – Emily Bender, Angeline McMilan-Major, Timnit Gebru, Shmargaret Shmitchell
    10. A Citizen’s Guide to Artificial Intelligence – John Zerilli,John Danaher,James Maclaurin,Colin Gavaghan,Alistair Knott
